    From what I've read

These new computer controlled systems make a huge difference in driveability of rear-drive cars in bad weather. I remember driving home from upper darby in a big snowstorm in my 78 mustang and it was turrible

Go ahead and grab that Prius with the custom plate "ZIMA4U".
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

So Im in Florida the week before last and needed a rental and long lines and "cheap and available" got me into a bright red, new Dodge Charger with low miles.

Having grown up with American muscle cars I knew the old one...did not even know it was still being made.

Gotta tell you I was impressed. Tight, very responsive steering, surprisingly good on gas, a lot of fun to drive.
          It's not a 2009 Chevy HHR, but it'll do.

I'm not sure how much technology can do to overcome a solid rear axle, low profile street tires, and basic horsepower. I'm sure it's better than the old cars, but I bet that it's still light years behind more modern chassis designs.

My dad went a little car crazy when he got diagnosed with prostate cancer. I forget the year but he got a Fairlane that was in like new condition, and then picked up a Challenger RT.

The Challenger is unreal. And the shocking thing is how quiet it is for something so powerful.

                  It can do a lot

My daily driver for 5 years was a rear wheel drive Saturn Sky Redline and in that 5 years I only left it home due to weather twice. It was a manual transmission, so I did have more control. I live in the flatlands of Central Jersey and drive up into the Watchung mountains every day to go to work. Never had much of a problem. Amazing what traction control and antilock braking can do.

You didn't even know the Charger was being made?! Earth to IG...it came back a long time ago! So, you're one of those guys who only drive foreign cars, huh? You are what's wrong w/ our country...the US auto industry has come a long way w/ reliability and design. Open your closed mind up and give em' a chance!!

What was the model year? I was in Atlanta for a wedding about two years ago and we wound up with a Dodge Charger. I hated it. Part of it might be me just being used to the Toyotas and other cars I've driven, but I thought the sight lines were terrible, narrow, blind spot nearly unmanageable, etc. It took me a day or two to feel safe. You could tell it had muscle under the hood though, compared to what I usually drive.

I would recommend doing something athletic everyday, pushups etc. In a few weeks you might feel like a man.
