He has a broken jump shot. that is a skill issue. The Lamar Odom comparisons are more reasonable than the insane comparisons to Lebron.

That's a skill you can work on, though. There are plenty of really good players who weren't great shooters coming out of college (or HS). He has skills that can't be learned.

Kawhi had an inconsistent jumper coming out of San Diego St. and the Spurs reworked his shot. Brett Brown comes from the Spurs tree and models his teams' player development after the way they do it.

Simmons shot isn't broken. It needs re-tooling...like Kawhi's did.

That's a good example. Jason Kidd couldn't shoot a 3 to save his life and by the end of his career he was actually a pretty decent 3 point shooter.

I trust Brett Brown in that respect. I still think he is a good coach. He actually coached Simmons' father.

                  That's funny

The NBA analysts with a clue are saying that his jump shot ISN'T broken.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

With all these European players coming over, all being able to shoot from 3...everyone feels that if you can't shoot 35% behind the NBA 3-point line, you're busted.

It took Lebron several years before he became a 3 point threat.

I dont know who those analysts are but if theyre saying this guy is a good shooter at this stage of his career they definitely dont have a clue.

Perhaps he can develop a better shot but right now he is a poor shooter with a very ugly shooting stroke.

Ingram was the best player on Duke by a mile. The fuck you talking about?

Grayson Allen isn't better than Ingram. He's better than given credit for but he's not Ingram. Allen has trouble beating athletic guys off dribble. Ingram doesn't.

Ingram can shoot the goddamned lights out and is a SF. He's exactly what the 76ers need right now with their core players.

                          Honestly, please read carefully.

They said his shooting stroke isn't broken. Not that he's a great shooter or even a very good one at this point. But they all say there is nothing to fix because nothing is broken. Only that he needs to be coached up a bit and gain some confidence.

I didn't see Jah Okafor sulk his way through a 1 and done season. I saw him win a NC.

same wth all the Kentucky kids who are one and done.

Simmons only "superstar" freshman I can recall not carrying his team to a NCAA bid.

That makes you think. How bad does he want a title vs how bad does he want a lifestyle?

This is gonna be a fun month!

Fair point, but at the same time, none of them had the hype surrounding them going into college that Simmons (or LeBron) had. I think going to LSU was ultimately the wrong choice for him.

The Duke's and Kentucky's of the world (and the Coach K's and Coach Cal's) know how to handle and nurse young, high profile one and dones. They help those kids become the players they need to be for the next level. They also have a whole roster full of other elite talent that helps make the team extremely competitive and thus makes it easier to stay engaged for a kid who is only there for one year of faking classes.

Simmons went to LSU because his godfather was an assistant coach there up until last month when he left for TCU. While it wasn't like Simmons was lining up with 4 rec league all-stars every night, LSU clearly isn't on the same level as some of the powerhouse teams. The school also doesn't have a history of one and dones. It was all new to them.

I do think that if the roles were reversed and Simmons played at Duke and Ingram at LSU, there wouldn't even be a discussion about who is #1.

Also, I'd agree that Ingram was the "best" player on Duke this year, but it was definitely evident by the way the team played down the stretch that Amile Jefferson was their most important.
