Twice as many whites + hispanics are killed by cops than blacks

Certainly not "exponentially higher". And is the problem just race or socioeconomic? Yet the divider-in-chief never comments when they get killed.

I think the biggest problem I have is the protection given to the bad cops. I know there are more good than bad, but when cops (who we give so much power over us in the name of safety) violate the public trust they need to be punished and removed.

The "thin blue line" and the relationship between prosecutors and the police force to catch criminals and seems to be a big problem.

Prosecutors rely on the police to win their cases - that makes it hard for me to believe that a prosecutor would truly go after bad cops without bias.

RSE, I'm sure you can confirm, expand on, or refute this perception that I have. But it's how it comes across to me. If I'm missing something I'd like to know.

No doubt there are bad cops, no doubt they are in the minority, BUT, bad shootings are going to happen, cops ARE human, and with what has been been happening lately I am sure even the GOOD cops are going to be more "nervous" than ever I don't care how professional or experienced they are, there jobs over the last couple of years has gotten a lot more dangerous.

          That's a nice comparison in a vaccuum.

          https://www.washingtonpost.com/graph...ice-shootings/

          Killed by cops in 2015:

          White: 494
          Black: 258
          Hispanic: 172
          Asian: 56

          White: 50.4%
          Black: 26.3%
          Hispanic: 17.6%
          Asian: 5.7%

          US Demographics:

          White: 63.7%
          Black: 12.2%
          Hispanic: 16.3%
          Asian: 7.8%

So, 25% of the people shot dead by the police are part of a group that makes up 12% of the population.

I can tell you the state police were prosecuted by a special prosecutor (my evidence professor) appointed by the governor. And the cops who screwed my brother were investigated by a special DA from another county, since the elected county DA didn't want to touch that one with a ten foot pole.

I know bad things are going to happen. Bad things happen all the time. I'd like a society/system where the perpetrators of bad things are treated like everyone else. That doesn't seem to be the case with police.

They're given the privilege to deny us certain rights and have expanded rights of their own in the name of safety. To me, they should be held to a higher standard.

Do you think other aspects and members of government should be treated as a special class of citizens when they fuck up?

As a member of the black community please let me know when it is okay for me to be outraged.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

"Race remains the most volatile flash point in any accounting of police shootings. Although black men make up only 6 percent of the U.S. population, they account for 40 percent of the unarmed men shot to death by police this year, The Post’s database shows. In the majority of cases in which police shot and killed a person who had attacked someone with a weapon or brandished a gun, the person who was shot was white. But a hugely disproportionate number — 3 in 5 — of those killed after exhibiting less threatening behavior were black or Hispanic."

Do you mean like HC and at the VERY least being "grossly negligent" as SOS, but yet Obama says she is the "Most qualified person to ever run for President"???

That a black person is more than twice as likely to be shot and killed by a police officer than a person of another race.

EXCEPT, that if you really don't want your numbers in a vacuum won't you have to exclude ALL big inner city shootings, since a much larger percentile of that specific area is a lot higher and more concentrated than the national average?

(Not being a smart ass with this question) Asking your opinion.

Why? What are your trying to say? Those people don't count?

I consider them humans killed by police.

Absolutely not, how can you get that out of my question???????????

IF most of your shootings happen in the inner city, and the inner city is 50% or more black, you can throw your National average of black pop. at 12% out the window, has NOTHING to do with them being human, jeez.
