Why do you give two fucks that he's not coming back? He hits the holes better than Sanders and is hard to bring down. Also, no one is 100% this time of the year.

I really don't understand the question, or the attitude you've got going on here. He has nerve damage that's obviously not going away. And they don't need him. That's why.

Howard could be cheap coming off an injury. Definitely worth signing at the right price.

I'd bring him back at the right price. We need at least one downhill guy for the power running game. Plus guys go down. Hopefully this is just a freak injury and he's durable.

"Hopefully he's durable" would be a fitting epitaph for the 2019 Eagles headstone.

If he's able to play next why would you not play him? He was great before the injury, hitting the holes between the tackles and typically barreling through the first guy who hit him. This is something neither Scott or Sanders can do. Plus he's averaging 4.4 yards a carry. Also, we have no receivers, so we can play two backs on the field at once, and maybe get Arthega Horseteeth on the sidelines.

Sitting him because he won't be back next year makes zero sense....

I hope he comes back this year and if the price is right next season as well. Something a stat sheet can't capture is the physical/mental toll he takes on defenders over the course of a game. Vs Buffalo and Chicago this year he played a big part in wearing down 2 good defenses, don't think they win the GB game without him either.

Exactly. Apparently we have some meth heads who would rather see Boston Scott play based off of games against Powerhouses like the Giants and Redskins

And yes, Howard is a beast ... he hammers fuckers ... keep him if reasonably possible

That's not the only reason I gave, it's one of several. I want to see what Scott really is before we get to the off-season... and because it's likely they move on from Howard, it's important to find out as much as possible before the draft. This is the perfect to game to find out what we have with this kid.

And Howard wasn't great, he was solid. He's also limited, and has a playing style that makes him an injury risk. The running game is working now, with two guys who clearly have a future with the team (whether Scott is an RB2 or RB3, he has a future here). Why change that now, before a do or die playoff game, so we can take carries away from the guys who have been producing and play a guy who wasn't even cleared to be touched as of Friday? You're that confident that we're not going to have another Desean situation where he's back in the locker room after taking the first hit? You really want to run that risk now? Scott is averaging 4.6YPC and has more catches in the last two games than Howard had through 9 weeks... I don't see any need to take that risk in this spot. Sanders and Scott have the hot hand, ride them.

I like the idea of having all 3 RBs and getting Wentz down to around 30 pass attempts on Sunday. Doesn’t look like it’s gonna happen though.

Howard is exactly the kind of back that you hope to hit on in the later rounds. Runs hard and gets what the OL blocks for. Considering his health, I’m guessing this team will gamble that they can replace Howard for 1/4(?) the price of what he’ll get in FA, with 4 years of team control.

WTF? Howard has rushed for 1000 yards his first two years in the league and 935 the year before he got here.

He's had over 1000 from scrimmage in every year he's played.

Are people here talking about the same back?

He's a fucking stud. Just because he's not going to the HOF doesn't mean he's just "good."

The only reason he won't be here is because he's too good to take the money that they probably want to pay him, considering that Sanders looks more and more that he might be a bell cow with HR threat ability.

It's going to come down to the $$$. They want 3 RBs they can play. Sanders and Scott are in. Sanders is very good. Scott fills the Darren Sproles-sized hole in Doug's heart. They'll want a grinder/thumper. If they can keep Howard at a reasonable price, they will. If not, they can find one in the 3rd/4th round.

We're now in the 7th week of Howard not being cleared for contact, which probably means there's nerve damage. How much more hammering do you think he'll be doing?
