As I try to navigate through all these smokescreens, I think 'Howie's Wish List' is really just a handful of players at #10. I think it's Anderson, Wilson, Carter, and Johnson. That's it.

If they are all gone, I think he trades down and goes for whoever is left. Murphy, Smith, or Van Ness seem like a Howie pick.

I would be somewhat shocked if Howie doesn't find a way to surprise us in this draft. The more we hear about him moving up for Carter or taking Robinson, the less likely it will happen. Howie always keeps his cards close to his bird chest.

Would have been nice to just beat the Saints and have a better chance at Carter.

At this point it doesn't seem like a given that Bijan will make it past Atlanta. If they stay put at 10 I think it's between Skoronski and Nolan Smith. I wouldn't mind getting one of those guys and then grabbing a running back later.

I have to think that's a smokescreen. Picking a running back that high from a team that won't compete for years doesn't really make sense. They have so many more areas of need.

I guess anything is possible with Atlanta.

The good news is that means another top tier player could drop to the Eagles at #10.

If it is true that the Settle is high on Carter, no way no how do I want to blow all that draft capital to jump into the top 3 or 4 to get him. Might as well stay at 10 and draft BPA. If you don't want to draft aa RB so high, take the best DL or CB available. Not really a reason to get cute here. Bijon would be a great pick and make this offense insane. Carter would be plug and play and be the eventual replacement for Cox. But if you have to give up 30 and more to move up for Carter I don't think it would be worth it. Kid already has red flags off the field why take a change and trade all the extra picks for a possible headache.

I would be willing to give up one of next year's second round picks to move up and get Carter. If he's gone, I would just move down and pray Howie doesn't shit the bed.

This is still a weak draft class. After the top tier players are off the board, they're better off trading down the board and see if a sucker will give up a first rounder for next year. This most likely will only happen if a team like Tampa Bay or Minnesota wants to leapfrog Tennessee and get a QB, If Anderson, Carter, Wilson and Johnson are off the board, they have to trade down. I'd rather other teams narrow down Howie's draft board than having Howie have the pick of the litter with second tier players.

Howie does a lot of good things as a GM. Drafting in the first round isn't one of them. God help us.

You ain't giving up only a 2nd next year to move into the top 4-6 lol It's going to take a shit ton to move up we isn't a QB. No other position is worth that haul.

Let me clarify. When I say trade up, I mean they get lucky and Seattle and Detroit passes on him. I know it's not highly likely but it's not impossible. My trade target was Las Vegas who will still fill their need at #10. They can't draft another reckless driver after that Ruggs fiasco. I wouldn't give up anything more than that.

My gut tells me the target is the other Georgia lineman, Nolan Smith.

I'd be shocked if Seattle passes on him. But if they did and Howie can swing a deal for the kid why not he is the best player in the draft. The red flags are an issue but frig a lot of players come with red flags and this kid is a monster. At this point I am happy with Carter, Bijon or Gonzalez. Like all 3. But knowing me, we ain't getting any of the 3 lol

Damn can't believe he was still available. If he stays out of jail this is a steal.

One thing I did notice, he didn't sound like the brightest bulb in the box lol. Hope he can stay out of trouble bc he is an incredible talent.

I am stunned things played out the way they did. I did not think Carter would make it past #6. Landing him is a dream scenario. I was hoping they’d be able to trade back and still get Smith in the teens. Unreal that he fell to 30.

Picks 62 and 66 are a great spot to address some of the remaining needs. Would love to get Charbonnet. TE2 could be another spot they look to improve.

The most impressive thing about these first round picks is the CGM (Competent GM) didn't get cute. He just drafted the players the majority wanted. I don't recall this ever happening before. Last year may have been the same. I can't recall. If these picks don't work out, it's hard to blame him. He didn't reach for anyone. Apparently, many of the Georgia coaches weren't a big fan of Carter which caused the best player in this draft to drop. Hopefully, he grows out of that quickly. Regardless, to get Carter and not have to lose a second round pick is unreal.
