  • What the tape says other teams think about the Eagles

According to Jason Avant on his podcast.

    - James Bradberry can't cover
    - If you rush 4 and drop 7, Jalen Hurts wont be able to figure you out.
    - Edge runs like reverses and tosses will make yards because the ends have no discipline
    - Soft on the edges. Corners don't love to tackle, receivers don't love to block.

Depressing but a lot of insights. Avant and Mikell think the Birds are fugazi.

I mean the eye test told me they sucked at like week 3. They have been ass on both sides all season and got lucky to be 10-4.

I disagree with point number 4 a little. I think Brown and Smith have been more than willing to block when called upon.

Bradberry has been a liability no doubt. Given his cap number the only thing I can hope is that he was playing dinged up this year. But that’s all that is.. just hope with nothing to back it up,

it’s definitely easy to defend when you can drop 7 players to cover only three likely receivers,

I agree with all of that.

So the Eagles have made a big effort to keep past players involved with the franchise and so they can create podcasts that crap all over the team. I’ve said it before there is no franchise in sports that has an ecosystem of media that benefits so much more by them losing than when they are winning. When the team is winning nobody really cares what the media says but flock to them when losing to confirm the world is ending. They play on our insecurities to drive clicks with perfection.

Avant says Smith really isn't big enough to be blocking and that Brown is not particularly into it. Says Zach Pascals blocking is much missed.

Went through a bunch of tape on Hurts missing reads. The film study starts but the whole thing is worth watching.

Listen this was a heart breaking loss to a.medicore team on a great catch and botched cover by Bradbury. This means nothing if they win out, still the #2 seed. Now if throw a farther innthe wind to the next 3 teams.thennl you emerge to be a wildcard.

he made his mind up pre snap above. He had Smith wide open on a drag route / crosser that would have gone for a massive play but he zoned in a forced it to AJ. at $200 mill you should be able to read the easy play. He has forced the ball a lot this year and just isn't seeing the field as well as he was before. The reason can be debated but he sure isn't playing well. And yes, whether coaching or whatever he needs to do, kid is made of the right stuff and I do think he can get right and won't be Wentz 2.0

Look at where the pressure is coming from in that picture. Do I have to teach you people everything?

you make me laugh. He proceeded to throw the ball even further to his left to AJ and the pressure is coming from the same side. Smith would have been an easier throw. If the pressure was an issue why throw it even further to the same side as the pressure to AJ?? Nice try professor.

Edit to add: Look at the separation Smith has. That ball could have been thrown way before pressure even got to him instead he waited back there (as he has done a lot this year hence the numerous INT's) and went for the slow developing long ball.

Where the pressure is coming from?? Cmon man…if that’s the case then you take the short to intermediate throw since the WR is already well into the route. Not the deep man who needs more time to get into the route.

Bottom line, if hurts didn’t have his head up his ass this year, smith would still be running on this reception. This is why AJ ran the go route and not the sideline stop where hurts threw it and it ultimately bounced 5 yards short of brown.

I do agree that the coaching has been dogshit this year but hurts has been equally awful. Then he goes and throws his teammates under the bus with his condescending bullshit after the game and his disinterested demeanor. The dude can seriously go with all that shit

He’s not a good enough QB yet to do any of that shit

Throwing the ball short when there’s something in front of you is harder than throwing it long when there’s something in front of you. In the latter case you can launch at a steeper angle. When you have to throw short, your launch angle is very low, almost parallel to the ground.

I get your point but look at the separation on Smith. Read the field and that ball is out early before pressure gets to him. Also. that there is so much room to step up in that pocket that is pretty friggin good protection on a 6 man rush.

Also, look how stood up our tackle and guard are. They’re basically getting fucked up there.
