When it drags out like this, is it better for the prosecution or the defense?

That's the other part of this that I'm having a hard time with. Do we really think the guy who not only had no answers for seven weeks, but coached as if there weren't even any questions to be answered, suddenly had the right answers four days after his season crashed and burned in Tampa? He told everyone at the beginning of the season that he had no intention of changing anything, he stuck with that plan after the ship hit the iceberg in the 49ers game, and rode that strategy all the way to the bottom of the ocean floor. Even if by some miraculous illumination Nick did come up with all the right answers before walking into Lurie's office, doesn't Jeff fire back with "Why the hell didn't you do that one, two, three, four, etc. weeks ago???".

If Lurie's asking tough questions about what happened, there's no way out for Sirianni. Even the right answers are the wrong answers. I really don't see how Nick could possibly survive any kind of serious, probing exit interview.

The only reason for keeping NS that I can see is Lurie's need to protect his reputation among his peers and with future coaches. And that's not nothing. I'm sure it's a serious consideration. It might even be the only consideration.

500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

I was being charitable. But you're correct.

Either Lurie is waiting for the playoffs to end and start a HC search, or he will retain Sirianni. Right now, it's silence... All the coordinators need to be replaced.
