Someone on BackSheGoes, who is purportedly connected to the Harper camp claims that a take it or leave it offer was extended today but that no deadline was set for a response.

Would be a little surprised if we don't know by this time tomorrow where he is signing.

No he didn’t. Buster Olney suggested Middleton do it. Some hack “MLB Insider” twitfeed that’s been wrong about everything made a “scoop” out of it. No legit source is running with this.

Don't have to go through it again. I guess the expectation would be that this team is competing at that point and, hopefully, Trout is here. Regardless of Trout, if the team is a perennial contender and he wants out, let him go. They can overpay someone else. I'd rather have the guy for 3 years than not at all.

That's where I stand. Signing Harper may encourage Trout to sign here and is also insurance in the, what I feel is likely, event that Trout stays in Cali.

Plus, I am fucking tired of losing and there is no question they will win more games from 2019-2021 with Harper manning a corner spot instead of Nick Williams.

I'm sure they aren't giving the Phils an opt-out after seven or so years. For me, three years isn't worth it when you're competing against yourself.
