Yes it is because the team takes on his do not give a shit mentality. He does nothing to try to get anything going when the team needs a spark. How about a bunt or try to steal a base maybe even 3rd base once in a fucking while? They have 4 steals all year, play no hit and run and flat out didn’t show up last night. While I really don't think much of baseball managers (Charlie won a World Series), CocoNuts didn't get a challenge in on time last night and it cost them at least one run. Cabrera was tagged out at first base on a bonehead play and the ump called him safe. If CocoNuts got the challenge in on time, he would have been called out. Instead, he took to long and Goodrum came up next and hit a two-run shot.

Absent him getting embroiled in a scandal, the organization will almost certainly give Kapler this and next season to make the playoffs. They certainly aren't going to fire him while the team is in first place.Comment

The 2020 roster should be an improvement over the current version. Statistically they will almost certainly have one of the highest expected win totals heading into next year.
If they fail to make the playoffs in 2019 AND 2020 there will, rightfully, be a new skipper in the dugout on Opening Day 2021.
