I think you are wholly wrong there. Arnie was a known prick and possible cheat, but Jack was a family man who would fly home on Fridays after a second round to watch his boys play football.

But the PGA is more than capable of throwing that rule out.

Imagine the NFL letting fans call in and report every time they thought there was a hold or pass interference. Let the officials govern the game. If they can't do that, then what are they there for ? I also don't see why golfers have to have absolute silence when they are getting ready to take a swing. NBA players have to make free throws with 20,000 people screaming and yelling and waving those plastic sticks. Kickers have to make a 45 yard FG with 60,000 screaming fans in their ear. Golfers have to try and get the ball from the tee to the fairway, and they're not even trying to get it into the cup on the first swing, yet they have to have absolute silence. Then they turn around and want people to consider them athletes.

You have a problem with honesty and responsibility?

Not to mention that adding rules officials would likely do no more than add more calls ... from people calling on shit the officials missed.

              This Means War

Spoken like a true New York City resident.

To 99% of Pennsylvania golf/sports fans who are old enough to have seen him play, insulting Arnold Palmer is like insulting mom, the flag and apple pie combined. Insulting Arnold Palmer while defending Jack Nicklaus only compounds the situation.

I didn't think it was possible to be ranked lower than snail slime.

HUGE problem with letting the fans be a part of governing the game. Again, can you imagine if any of the four major sports leagues in this country had a hotline set up and actually paid someone to take calls from fans who thought they saw some rule infraction ? Hire officials. Knowledgeable officials. Let THEM govern the game. In my opinion, if the players knew that there was an official on the course that was looking for a rule infraction, they would be less likely to purposely commit one.

Why don't you Google "Arnold Palmer womanizer" or "Arnold Palmer 1958 Masters cheat" or "Arnold Palmer endorse illegal clubs?"

If nothing else, how about how Arnie never stood up for Nicklaus when Arnie's galleries used to holler "Fat Jack" at the shy big kid from Ohio?

My dad -- born and raised in Dunmore, PA -- a man who has forgotten more about golf than you will ever know, got me wise to Palmer. My dad appreciates a family man who didn't cheat on the course and who, by the way, won three times as many majors as Palmer plus two U. S. Amateurs.

It's something that happens rarely and certainly should not change a rule requiring honesty and responsibility from people playing golf.

Ironically, all this outrage about telephone calls is from a situation that actually was not caused by a telephone call.

The Masters shitstorm would have occurred anyway, because it was caused by the interview at which Woods admitted to engaging in an action with a particular mindset that violated a rule (which I do not think he understood at the time was a violation).

But we don't want to go down that road, unless you want me to supplant KG as ratings king.

And by the way, I was born in PA, and I'll bet I saw Palmer play more golf than you did, you jackass.

you know better Nick then to use facts against a Pa xenophobe, plus his e-machine will burn up trying to google anything other then buffet restaurants + Horsham Pa.

I'd venture to say that the area where you currently live is more similar to the majority of PA than the area where KG currently lives.

Where you live NOW shows you have shit for brains, which in turn renders meaningless any opinion you have on the subject.
