Isn't that what everyone here is saying??

He's got the chance now that Vick is injured. Let's see what happens before annointing the next king.

      PS who cares about dogs?

        Yeah that's the point

Even first round QBs turn out to be BCJ, it only gets worse as you go down

          No, I don't.

The point of my post was dogs or not, that should not be a factor anymore in any opinion of his play now. Enough time has passed. I dislike him for it, but it doesn't factor into my opinion of whether he should start or not.

I agree about the too short thing. But there are plenty of other things about his actual game that make me believe that if Foles can beat out legit teams, he should remain the starter until he can't. If he loses on Sunday to Dallas, Vick should get the next start.

            i don't think that's long enough personally...then again i'm not the coach.

so, if vick loses to the giants the week after or the next legit team they play...should they bench vick then? i think that's my problem...one or two games isn't really enough in my eyes...but then again, chip was convinced that vick could play...which is like about 10 other head coaches have been in the nfl with vick.

It's not, but Vick was named the starter. So he starts if he's healthy, unless Foles proves to be a guy who cannot be benched.

He is getting another chance to prove that this week. And if he does, I'll bet he'll get another chance next week.

What does your point have to do with giving Foles a chance to prove if he's capable of running an NFL offense? Vick proved the last 10 years or so that he's incapable of being anything consistent. Now that he's near the end of his career, why give him more chances to prove himself?
So we have a 24 years old kid at QB and you don't want to find out what we got? Let him run with the first team offense for a few games at least before we judge if he's our next QB or should be drafting a QB next year.

There's just no point in starting Vick. Nothing can be gain from it.

Remember how Tom Brady got his starting gig? Drew Bledsoe got much better talent than Vick ever did! Yet, they turned the page on him without so much of a discussion

You don't remember the Brady/Bledsoe specifics very well.

Bledsoe went 5-11 in 2000 and started the 2001 season 0-2. The fanbase and new coaching staff was already turning on him when he got hurt. He was Parcells' boy.

When did I say Foles shouldn't be given a shot to prove his capability?

The only point to my previous post was that it is more likely he is not, nothing about whether he should get a chance. He has the chance now. REgarding Vick, if Foles stinks up the joint the next game or two, yes there is a good reason to go back to Vick - to have a shot at the postseason.

Yeah the dog thing sux but what Ray Lewis did not to mention Donte Stallworth wasn't too good either but. I think Vick is sincerely a changed person and paid his dues as our legal system and the NFL required.
Right on he changed his life he used to kill dogs after he got out of jail he attempted to kill a person.

Fortanatly that is not a valid argument as nobody is winning with Vick.

Yeah.. no. I'm just grateful he was once good enough to get to an NFC championship game.

                              Eternally grateful.

Vick and the FF both set the Eagles back years.

You have to know when to cut your losses.

I admit I'm not good at that either.
