I've been saying this in every thread on the subject. If he doesn't change his diet, I doubt Diggle will make it to 50. He'll have developed abs, but he'll be dead.
Nobody should consider a diet healthy, that humans were eating at a time when very few lived longer than 30 years.
Refined carbs, like candy, soda, and cookies, and refined breads, pastas, and rice, should be eliminated. Not whole grains, fruits, and vegetables rich in complex carbs. As most grandmothers have said for decades -- All things in moderation!
As always -- the best advice is to stay away from the middle aisles of the grocery store. Real food doesn't come in boxes.

I'm a big believer in moderation/balance (see I'm a moderate in more ways than one) - any diet that goes too far in any direction is not good IMO (low carb, high carb, low fat, high fat, low protein, high protein).

i'll agree. plenty of people eat like shit and live to see 80. paleo may not be healthy in the long run but it's not the worst diet on the planet. i'd guess it's better than what most americans do.

The prob with whole grains is that if they haven't been properly sprouted, and no commercial grains have, than they have a bunch of enzymes which will interfere with digestion and the food then essentially becomes an anti nutrient.
As for cutting out candy and soda, great, you will lose weight and be healthy but what is the point of even living if you can't have candy and soda?
Dieting is the gayest thing ever. People should just embrace being fat and sickly.

Moderation is the point. I haven't drank a soda in years. I'll eat a bite of chocolate now and then. Don't feel the least bit deprived. I do miss a greasy burger now and then but don't touch them.
I see kids drinking 32 ounce cups of soda every day. That's ridiculous! For one, I'd be peeing like seabisquit all day long.
People who have trouble digesting grains, like celiac sufferers, are a very small percentage of the population. This gluten free craze has jumped the shark.

Seriously, this is nonsense. The notion that enzymes in unsprouted grains make them anti-nutrient is ridiculous and makes no biochemical sense.
