I don't think it's clear that is what Jackson wants or that he'll cause a problem if he doesn't get more money.

But the idea that he should be placated is not the one that Kelly and the FO should send in my opinion.

Plus, they just spent money on the WR position and may very well spend more on Maclin midseason.

We're all speculating from reading online posts. Hell, I'm not in the FO or in DJax camp. I only got fed by internet news like the rest of you. I think DJax doesn't want to play for the Eagles. You think DJax loves the Eagles. Who the hell know? FO or DJax camp doesn't give us any "real" statements to go on. Until then, we'll just be fighting among ourselves against our own opinions.

Have fun bashing each other while the FO and Djax camp laughs at us.

Most of them happening behind the scenes, but obviously he has pissed the wrong folks off with his antics for all this stuff getting leaked constantly now.

No doubt they are laughing at these discussions on message boards, reminds me of our government...power is good.

when 10 is gone and Kelly's O keeps chugging on. Jackson had better numbers than ever because Chip targeted him far more than Reid ever did, and that from a run first coach. But you know what, you know so much more about building a winning team than Kelly I guess.

I don't want them to move on from DeSean…yet. I believe in Chip and I think his O will still work, I just think it will work better if 10 is there.

I hope there's a legit reason they're moving on RIGHT NOW other than "he's going to want more money down the line."

If they are moving on, and they have a viable plan to replace him, again, I trust Chip's judgement.

My biggest thing is, outside of Shady, 10 is the only O player you have a reasonable idea of what he will contribute. Maclin…who knows if he can come back from injury and be effective. Cooper…who knows if he was a flash in the pan or if he can continue to contribute at a 2/3 WR level. Celek…who knows if his resurgence can continue or if age will catch up to him. Ertz…we all expect him to take the next step to a top notch TE, but what if he doesn't. Sproles…there's a reason his production and his looks diminished in New Orleans, what if a player who succeeded due to his quicks and wiggle has lost his quicks and wiggle.

The O should be elite, but there are legitimate questions about it. Unless Djacc is quite literally destroying the locker room, I don't see how keeping him around this season while grooming a rookie is a bad thing.

I never said that I knew more than Kelly, so don't put words in my mouth

However, replacing DeSean jackson with a rookie more than likely won't be easy. If it's going to make me look like an ass because I don't believe that kelly's offense is better off without DeSean, then so be it. I still haven't found a reason suitable enough to me to cut him. This latest contract thing is small potatoes compared to what happened before, and when DeSean pouted before, I wasn't all in his corner singing his praises, but this is not like before. The front office isn't saying anything, either , so hey, what are you gonna do ?

Are the Eagles bettering themselves by cutting ties with Jackson? I think the offense can work will without him but not as well. If this is a vintage stay strong joe or we are going to show him because he said he'd like more guarantees than I'm going to be disgusted.

Why would we want this offense to NOT work as well or even better than it did last year ? You can't just get rid of that production and think that everything is everything and we'll be okay.

Once again, after the numbers he put up last year, what wide receiver wouldn't want another shot at going out and doing it again ? Even with the Eagles having the league's leading rusher, Desean still had 1,300 yards receiving and scored 9 times. You don't think he wants to try and duplicate that ? If it's about the money and his wanting more guaranteed cash from what he is still owed, then Diggle is absolutely correct that Chip really doesn't know how to manage grown ass men who pull down a paycheck. You don't let your second best offensive weapon just walk over some dumb shit like this.
Why are you overthinking this thing so much? I love how people think it's the contract, or the diva attitude. This is just my opinion. I think the FO is aware of some real crazy $hit that will be going public in the near future. My guess? After his house was "Robbed" ;-)
he filed a bogus insurance claim and was called on it. He will be charged with insurance fraud and either do some time, or probation. Either way, he will be handed with at least a 4 game suspension, maybe more. This FO without Banner does not just get rid of a player that bitches about his contract.

My take is this, I don't think it's any ONE thing, I think there are a couple of things that are all adding up,

                        1. I think CK thinks DJ is not a team player or at least as much as he would like.

                        2. I think CK does like bigger players as has been stated before, and DJ is done growing.

                        3. I think this offense could do even better if/when you have a wideout that can block, not DJ's strong suite.

                        4. I think the money is an issue, when you look around the league at some of the numbers and production that other top WR's have put up, "before" they got the big contract, I think it looks like DJ is making more than others, at this stage in his career.

                        5. As stated before, this is a stocked draft at WR, and with the rookie two year no new contract rule, the team gets a pretty good look at a guy before they have to throw big money around.

                        6. Maybe CK and company feel that the money saved on DJ could be better used on defense, which of course was the weak link last year.

If you add all of these up, I can see the logic behind it, I think it also sends a message to the rest of the team that if you are not all in, you may be out, regardless how good you are.
