You don't want him to celebrate, don't give him a pitch that he can hit 450ft.
We are not talking about other players on the team. We are talking about a player who just signed a new deal with a new team with a new offense and new coach. We are also talking about a player with a qustionable work ethic who has a reputation of being a diva and bad locker room guy that just did a brother in law interview derssed up like a bafoon to help his image as a team guy. What are you not understanding about why he should be at OTA's?

Exactly. Washington knew a couple days of OTAs don't mean diddly. Why have a pissing match over something that dumb.

When I took this job, I told them I wouldn't start till a week after they wanted. Take it or leave it. Still got a top review and increase when it came up. Some people have skills and some have to kiss ass at their job.

There isn't one thing that I'm not understanding

I'm perfectly aware of whether or not he does or doesn't have to be there.

Williams, Peters, and McCoy were not perceived as lazy jerkoffs in the locker room by their own teammates.

Yeah that proves it! Did you get shit-canned from your previous job for not being a team-player/being selfish?

As long as he doesn't show up drunk at a public event in the next couple days and threaten to fight every whitey in place, he'll be fine.

Then you understand that outside of Igglephans, people are having this same conversation about him and questioning his work ethic?

If he said that I'm sure you would nominate him for man of the year.

How did you handle the net loss in salary because you were fired from your previous job at least partially on the basis for not giving a shit?

When one or some of those people are his actual teammates.

You don't think it's likely that some of his new teammates are having this conversation? It seems pretty obvious that his old teammates did.

The attitude makes a nice cover story but maybe he got cut because the Eagles didn't want to pay him.

Jackson cleared the vacation before he got signed. If Gruden thought it was a problem, he could have said no. Therefore it's not a problem. WTF don't you understand about that?

and I would expect them to talk to DeSean like men when he shows up. My feeling is that the majority of those guys know what DeSean can do, and are more than willing to let slide the fact that he's missing a couple days of OTA's. Like I said to SE, if this was training camp, I'd be right there with you guys.

Was that the award you gave Riley Cooper last year?

Actually I seriously doubt Gruden could have said no - aside from not signing him.

                                1) It was Snyder's decision - not Gruden's.

                                2) If the Redskins forced a player to attend a voluntary workout I'm sure the NFLPA would have something to say about it.

There's no way Jackson could be forced to skip his vacation and/or the Redskins wouldn't sign him over this. But it continues the stigma that he isn't a team player. And it's a stigma that is reportedly held by players, not just the fans and media.
