I've never seen someone cover another person in cake before or anything similar to that after being drafted. That makes it weird to me.

I'm starting to think this guy is just weird. He thinks that cake smashing nonsense is normal and gives him a pass because he's gay. Shit, it took him several posts to even acknowledge the cake. For a minute, I thought he blocked me. I'm going with coo coo for cocoa puffs.

Who put in all of that work, and got a call from Jeff Fisher saying "welcome to the NFL, you're a St Louis Ram", would be happy as hell that they got drafted. You don't think it's a big deal because all you may see is a 7th round pick, and there's usually not much value attached to a seventh ropund pick. Michael Sam is unlike any pick we've seen before in the NFL.

to say what is and isn't normal when it comes to someone being drafted into the NFL ? If he had taken a beer, and cracked the beer open and started spraying it all over the room as a 7th round draft pick, is that over the top ?

When you have to go to "you're a tool" or "this guy is weird" or "you don't comprehend my posts", it's obvious that you're done. You put up a good fight, but you just don't have it. Nothing to be ashamed of. Keep your head up, young buckaroo.

Quick question: Do you think Sam's reaction was different than other 7th round pick reactions yesterday (in terms of magnitude)? If the answer to that is yes, do you think he is entitled to his grander reaction because of his orientation? I'm trying to understand whether your position is that Sam is just like everyone else or different than everyone else.

                        • The shot of the gay bar in W. Hollywood was a little surreal. Think he could have handled it a little more professional like the last gay draft pick, Shawn Andrews
Cowboys last SB win is old enough to drink beer

Only 256 guys get their name called during draft weekend. hell, I'l bet that the guys who get calls as UDFA's, are subject to running around the house screaming because they're happy they got the call. The social implications of Michael Sam's selection are what adds to the magnitude of the moment. There have been gay NFL players, going back to the days of Vince Lombardi, but Sam is the first to walk that road as openly gay, and being prepared to face the backlash that has already started to come his way. I think that he understands the journey in front of him, so yeah, I can understand him reacting that way. I think he's entitled to react to that news however he wants, just as someone who loses a loved one is entitled to grieve in the manner that they see fit.

Could've fooled me. Look, same goes for you, just bow out. You didn't put up as good a fight as snake, but it was pretty close. The best was when you two tried to tag team it, that was the epitome of entertainment. Hang in there, slugger. It'll get better.
