In this State,there are no "gun Registration" files (Federal Background checks by dealers, yes, but that's Federal). Every State is not like the Northeast. And many do not think the way you do.

The process to get a lincense and handgun permit in NJ took over a week. A bought a shotgun in PA and it took about 5 minutes.

In PA, I can walk into a gun show today and walk out with an ar15, more ammo than I can carry and an armor plated ballistic vest.

The premise is untrue from a per 100,000 population analysis. If you want to just say there are more here from shear numbers, yes that is true. But that's like saying "there's an epidemic of poverty in the US" - because there are more people in poverty here than any other western nation. Do you know that 4 times more people die in this country every year due to poverty than from firearms? Is that an epidemic?

Anywho, is it an "epidemic" when the total number of people killed in mass shootings is a small percentage of total gun deaths? I don't think so - they get sensationalized in the news and become fodder for political debate, that's for sure.

It's all about the money. The gun lobby and the oil/coal lobby make politicians rich to get their no vote even on the most common sense of laws.

So, we go nowhere on guns and protecting the environment.

I have a question! If the 2nd amendment is repealed, and law abiding citizens lose their right to own weapons. How do we stop criminals, who will always have a way to get a weapon, from talking advantage of the unarmed citizenry? Use common sense!
