So do I. Let's look at the latest data for Australia

According to your source, the suicide rate for males in 2007 was 13.9/100,000. In 2013, that number is 16.4/100,000, with a small percentage of suicides due to firearms. Oops

And it's far lower than the decades prior to and following the buy back. So even with your increased hangings it's fallen significantly over the last decade.

The epidemic of mass shootings happens nowhere else than the good ole USA. So comparisons with other nations and cultures is meaningless

I KNOW TWO PEOPLE THAT TOOK THEIR OWN LIFE. ONE ATE A BULLET, STEP FATHER. ALWAYS SAID NO CHANCE HE WAS GOING TO A NURSING HOME. HE WAS 89, HE DIDN'T. I HAVE NO ISSUES WITH WHAT HE DID. HE COULDN'T LIVE WITHOUT MY MOTHER, HIS FAMILY WANTED TO PUT HIM IN A HOME, HE SAID NO FRIGGIN WAY.

ONE DID NOT USE A GUN . SAME RESULT THOUGH.

            HOW BOUT THEM LIONS.

              Sad but true

              http://www.newyorker.com/humor/borow...wn-politicians

“Politicians pose no danger to the public if used correctly,” said Mr. LaPierre, who claims to have over two hundred politicians in his personal collection. “Everyone hears about the bad guys in Congress. Well, the only thing that stops a bad guy with a vote is a good guy with a vote. I’m proud to be the owner of many of those guys.”

Wow! What a Police State! Maybe Americans want one. I don't know.
It seems to be going that way.

Wow. I guess I'm a jerkoff. What a surveillance State. It won't stop at just there.

You are proposing a Federal Takeover, have you thought of the implications? What else will this apply to?
In this State, there are no "gun Registration" files (Federal Background checks by dealers, yes, but that's Federal). Every State is not like the Northeast. And many do not think the way you do.
But I am sorry I got sucked into replying, and I apologize.
I live in a whole different world than most all of you do.

                              I was on point

The premise is untrue from a per 100,000 population analysis. If you want to just say there are more here from shear numbers, yes that is true. But that's like saying "there's an epidemic of poverty in the US" - because there are more people in poverty here than any other western nation. Do you know that 4 times more people die in this country every year due to poverty than from firearms? Is that an epidemic?

Anywho, is it an "epidemic" when the total number of people killed in mass shootings is a small percentage of total gun deaths? I don't think so - they get sensationalized in the news and become fodder for political debate, that's for sure.

So, we go nowhere on guns and protecting the environment.
I have a question! If the 2nd amendment is repealed, and law abiding citizens lose their right to own weapons. How do we stop criminals, who will always have a way to get a weapon, from talking advantage of the unarmed citizenry? Use common sense!
