        I just got back from Paris, France a few hours ago and I think about this every time I travel abroad. An example from this trip: I stayed on the top floor of a hotel and both full-sized (actually over-sized) windows opened completely looking down on a busy street. I thought, yeah, in the US someone would "fall" out of the window and blame the hotel.
