The shake my head in disgust factor on this one is second only to that 70 year old guy who was allowed to carry around a gun as a sheriff's deputy or some such nonsense because he was friends with the local judge - and then killed a kid because he wasn't competent to use it.

Sure, other facts might come out, but I'd be surprised. Pulled over for a tail light. No record. Tells the officer he is legally carrying, even though I don't think he was required to do so by law. Sounds like a real trouble maker.

And I have seen cops shoot at cars that are trying to mow them down in the movies. In the 5 years I worked the road however, and the 15 + years my buddies have, in DC and BMore mind you, I nor they have ever heard of a cop shooting in to a car with 3 passengers, with 1 being a minor, in it. It is fair to say that is unheard of.

I know you are just "Captain Save-a-Ho'in" Gun Rights, like they need saving. Really though, I feel we all have to admit that there is a serious Gun and Race issue in this Country, and it is mainly from one subset of our culture. It only ADDS to the problem because some asshole must think this is some kind of retribution, but all it will do is polarize and make both sides of the problem more nervous and suspicious of each other. There is a problem with how CERTAIN LEO's deal with minorities and that has to be dealt with. Whoever is responsible for what happened in Dallass needs to pay for their actions severely, but it does nothing to exonerate the officers in Minnesota and Louisiana. It just shows that violence begets violence, a cycle repeating more and more often these days.
