A truly incredible man. Loved the Iggles with everything he had. Welcomed me with open arms on this bored. His book, The Legend of Red Klotz is a phenomenal read. Every time I asked him to come on to my podcast to talk hoops, he never said no. Always swore that Wilt Chamberlain was the greatest player to ever lace em up, NOT Michael Jordan. All of that made me look past his disdain for my Buckeyes. Man, this one truly hurts my heart. Thanks for everything IG. I really appreciate and value your friendship. The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is - Winston Churchill

Horrible news.
I think about IG often, wondering how he was doing in his retirement years, remembering his work stories, family life, and just thinking about his progression during that time of his life.
I disagreed with him often about Eagles stuff (some people just see things differently) but I always respected the fact that he was the MOST LOYAL Philly sports fan that I know.
Oh, and he could drop historic fact bombs about Philly sports at any moment and then start talking about Asian resbians again.
He also coined the word : thenthative (that still makes me laugh!)
I was glad to have met him, and many others at a tailgate. I was also very glad that the last time he popped in on this board, he was especially cordial to me - like a genuine, “we go way back as original board members ” kind of thing.
I will miss him. I will miss the idea of just wondering, and hoping, that he would return to the board again. Those were good days- so many guys like IG keep the juice flowing here. (Damn tears are flowing like a batch)
Please tell him he was a good man. Legendary without question.

Incredibly sad to hear this. IG was a big source of laughs during this board's heyday. IIRC KG posted an article about someone who dropped dead after a marathon in reference to IG's love for running, which started one of the best ongoing jokes on here.
Very nice guy at Gaytes. I remember his oversized Tommy McDonald jersey, with a Foles jersey underneath during the 2017 run, that he rocked with Adidas. He totally forgot who I was after the Super Bowl, but did a good job covering it up the next time I saw him. He got a kick out of it when my girlfriend, wearing my old Runyan jersey, realized what number she was rocking, and appreciated the KG reference when I told him my cousin was becoming a lactation specialist.
Sending my best to IG and his family.

OMG, I had no idea. It's kinda freaking me out now because I was thinking about him yesterday for some reason...just popped into my head and wondering how he was doing. I never had the pleasure of meeting him face-to-face but he looked for me once when we were both at a Mainland HS playoff football game around 8-10 years ago. This is truly sad and shocking news.

IG is a true legend. He used to get us tickets to the A10 championship at boardwalk hall to root on Temple back in the late 2000s. Was always generous and we went out drinking before and after. His stripper phase was awesome. I’ll always cherish my signed copy of his book. He was a true class act unlike most of you ingrates that don’t deserve to know someone of his caliber.I'm not the hill you want to die on

Very sad to hear about this, I had no idea about his battle with cancer. He was one of the reasons I started posting here 16 years ago. Sat with him for a few Phillies and Temple basketball games and always had a blast. I definitely share your sentiment about his generosity, larger than life presence and kindness. He was the best poster on the bored in its prime, the trolls didn’t stand a chance against him.
I’m happy I got to chat with him last year for about an hour before the Birds/Bucs game, he seemed to be in great spirits.
God bless, Tim…legend indeed.

Posting from deer stand. Way IG likes it. Met IG in 1999 at baseball gayte. From that day forward he became a true friend. Many great memories- the Saturn, asain lesbians, all the red klotz stories, clams, 4 loko, lehigh training camp, great les bowen stories, his little pony rolling rocks, burlington times March madness . and many more. IG gave me a old skool eagles jersey# 88. He new I liked tight ends, more ways then one.lol. So unfortunaly it's a long story, but jersey got destroyed by accident. I explained to IG the long story and felt bad, he was like no worries brotha, all good. I always looked forward to eagles game and tailgates because of IG Brotherhood.
Love you brotha. You are a true legend and wont be forgotten.

Very sorry to hear about this, IG was among the first few board legends I met in person and he couldn’t have been nicer and more welcoming.
I always found myself reading every word he put on here, never skimmed a post from IG; I remember once trying to debate basketball with him and he handed me my ass in an informative way, like a professor teaching his student a lesson.
my thoughts are with his family and close friends on here, he will remain legendary.
