"Muscle injuries are going to happen, I don't think you can totally prevent them," Kelly said. "But you can also do a better job of trying to put yourself in a situation where it doesn't occur. I don't think in certain situations, those guys it was because they weren't hydrated -- if that was the key, we'd just keep everybody hydrated and you'd never have a muscle pull."

      Impolite

It's more interesting watching these idiots try to be trolls than to correct them.

My problem is that Kelly cuts players who don't adhere to his Sport Science philosophy. He's a martinet.

Of course..." everybody hydrated and you'd never have a muscle pull."

SURE the Eagles have no muscle injuries now! They are injury free! Impolite indeed to point out Chip's results!

So are they "going to happen" or are they "preventable"?

Please send me a link to your quote if you get a chance. Sounds like Kelly wants to have it both ways. He can't "prevent" something but it's also "going to happen"

If that is the case perhaps he is not the miracle worker many claim he is

I think he explains himself better than before. Which is that you can't prevent injuries but they believe things can be done to put the player in a better position to stay healthy.

There are some out there that think Chip is a miracle worker, but I am not so sure he views himself as one.

Exactly. 1 good season. 2 not so good
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.

Those aren't mutually exclusive. There are things that are preventable yet still occur despite measures people take. The common cold is preventable if you wash your hands a lot and try to avoid people who are sick, etc., but even people who do that still sometimes get a cold. I'm not sure Kelly was using the term "preventable" to mean that something would never occur, but just that there are measures that can be taken to prevent it from occurring more often than it otherwise would. Again though, it is impossible to prove whether or not that is the case because you can't prove that someone would have suffered an injury bot for the measures taken.

Really? You don't know what ex-Eagles lifestyles conflicted with Chip's 10:00 bedtime?

Perhaps that was a contributing factor. Surely you don't suggest that is the sole reason.

Anyway, here in reality, I do think its somewhat unreasonable to expect young affluent men in their 20's to get to bed by 10pm, despite the result.
