I think it is fair to say that all of Chip's methods may not be conducive to the NFL. At some point he may have to adjust. If we're lucky he goes the Fire Marshall Bill route, figures out what doesn't work, is humble enough to make changes and then brings us a couple of Super Bowls.

If we are not, Chip is coaching in Austin for millions of dollars, and a tire fire burns in south Philadelphia.

      Worst case scenario, of course.

For sure, but that's pretty much the case any time a coach fails, right? I don't really buy the notion (and I'm not saying you are saying this) that Chip doesn't care because he knows he has a job elsewhere if he fails. I think the guy is super competitive and prideful and wants to win. No doubt he's a gambler, but I think he's doing what he legitimately thinks will create a winner. Any time a coach fails, the fans are left holding the bag of shit.

Huh? 10 wins, 10 wins, 3 games in... How does that equal one good and two bad?

Anyway, here in reality, I do think its somewhat unreasonable to expect young affluent men in their 20's to get to bed by 10pm, despite the result.
I think culture/sports science was the primary factor. This one cut stuff is a load of crap. McCoy had 3000 yards rushing for Kelly. That's the bottom line. Who cares what his running style was?

No, it isn't, because almost all other coaches are NFL lifers and they want to maintain a good name in the league. Chip frankly doesn't have to give a fuck. The Eagles won't make or break him.

Ask yourself this. Let's suppose Jim Harbaugh has no more success at Michigan than Rich Rodriguez or Brady Hoke did. How long do you think it would take Harbaugh to get a head coaching job in the NFL? Next year? Two if he wants to be picky, with a plum ESPN gig for one autumn. A college lifer like Muschamp or Charlie Strong will never get another top college job.

Let me settle this whole thing

Chip Kelly commenting on anatomy and physiology is like Britney Spears commenting on the Brandenburg Concertos.

He may not have to give a fuck but I think he does. You're a good lawyer and if things weren't working out at a firm, you know you could get a job elsewhere pretty quickly, right? So technically, you don't have to give a fuck. But you have self respect and a reputation to maintain and you want to be good at what you do, so I suspect you do. Not a perfect analogy, but I don't think the competitive drive he feels to be successful is much different (maybe greater) than any of us when it comes to our profession. I could be wrong. Who knows...

It's not your intelligence. I just wonder whether you've lived in the world. Your conception of the practice is not mine. If I don't give a fuck my kids and I don't eat. Slag would tell you the same thing.

Well I do work and support a family too. I get it. Chip doesn't have to worry about that. But that's not the only reason I give a shit whether I'm good at my job. I'm sure it's not the only reason you give a shit. There many reasons why people care how good they are at what they do. I can't imagine there is any coach who doesn't want to win and be the best. I think that trumps the comfort zone of knowing they'll be secure if they fail.

And it's precisely because I have been in the world that I know there are lots of people who don't give a shit and remain employed. A lot of them work at the NJ dmv. I just don't think Chip is that type.
