To me, Ingram has the ability to be a Durant-type scorer. That's a nice ceiling. Simmons probably has an even higher ceiling if he has the desire to reach his potential - he needs to put in the work to be a better shooter and a serious defender. I guess it's up to the Sixers to determine if Simmons has that MJ/Kobe/Lebron desire within him. If so, he probably should be the pick, if not, Ingram should be a star as well. Not a bad problem to have.

      I agree.

Majoc Johnson didn't have an outside shot coming into the pros. He developed enough though.

That's my concern as well. For all of his great ability what made MJ an all-timer was his incredible desire to be the best. I'm more than a little concerned about all the money and endorsement talk coming out of his camp without playing a second on an NBA court.

if he wants to go to LaLa land so bad he may not put in enough effort here, something for them to think about.

Johnson was a NCAA championship winning PG who had 8 assists per game. Totally different situation.

I beg to differ, when it comes to Kelly Pat, there is definitely no brain involved.

It's all about they impression they when they get to talk to him. I'm sure he'd rather play in LA as it would be more lucrative. I can't blame him for that at all. The question is, can he commit to bringing Philadelphia a championship. If they believe the answer is yes, then he probably is the right pick. I just remain skeptical about that part of it.

Exactly. This kid couldn't even will his team into the tourney.

                    Let alone win it.

He may be more Marvin Hamlish than Marvin Barnes.

                    Larry Fine than Larry Bird.

                    Curley than Curley Neal.

That wasn't the point. The point is that it's possible to develop a legitimate outside shot like Johnson.

I think he's Their choice if the draft is tomorrow. A lot can change in 4 weeks (see Joel Embiid - who injured his foot about a week away from the draft).

The problem with Simmons is that he's gonna bolt to LA the second hes a FA after his rookie deal
